FUND RAISER/WRITING CONTEST

DEADLINE EXTENDED:

The deadline for entries for Ragazine’s first fund-raising contest, “Speculative Fiction by People of Color,” has been extended to September 20, 2013.  If you haven’t entered already, there’s still plenty of time to do so. Ragazine.CC is an independent e-zine. We publish pretty much whatever we like, but we’ve worked diligently to ensure the work you find in Ragazine.CC will be as much worth your while to read as it was for the author to create and the editors to pull together.

EDITORIAL FREEDOM:

We figure if the editors aren’t getting paid, at least they should have the freedom to choose what they think stands out among the submissions we receive over the transom, or that we solicit. In doing so, we’ve been fortunate in presenting not only a distinctively varied content, but also one that provides world class quality across all genres.

Now, SHEREE RENEE THOMAS, a distinguished editor and speculative fiction author in her own right, has teamed with RAGAZINE.CC to be the final judge in our “Speculative Fiction by People of Color Contest,” a contest conceived by Fiction Editor JOE WEIL, professor of creative writing at Binghamton University, and a widely published poet and author. Joe is supervising the first reads of all submissions, and will make the final determination of which 25 stories will be handed over to Sheree for final selection.

You will be hard-pressed to find a more qualified team to be reading and commenting on your work!

SUPPORT RAGAZINE:

Now we’re coming to you, our readers, for your support. If you’re a writer and have a speculative fiction story you’ve always wanted to write, or one that you’ve already written, e-mail it to editor@ragazine.cc. The entry fee is only $15.00 and you have a chance to EARN, not just WIN, the $1,000.00 first prize. Second and third place winners will be published in subsequent issues of Ragazine.CC, and the top five selections overall will receive comments/critiques from the Final Judge.

And look at this way: If you don’t enter, you can’t win. If you do enter, you could walk away with the $1,000.00 top prize. At the very least, you’ll be supporting both Ragazine.CC and your fellow authors. So don’t just sit there, send us your stuff. And if you’re a reader, not a writer, feel free to donate. Either way, we want to hear from you. And thanks for reading!
