Eligibility:

We strive to create a safe space for all writers to share their voices.

Chapbook submissions are open to all writers, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, race, or religion.

Manuscripts must be submitted in English.

All poetry must be the original work of the submitting author.

Poets must own the copyrights to each of their poems.

Previously published poems may be included in your manuscript.

The manuscript as a whole must be a previously unpublished collection.

Guidelines:
Submit a manuscript containing at least 25-30 poems.

We will also consider publishing larger collections containing 40-50 poems.

Include no more than one poem per page. Poems longer than one page are acceptable.

Please format the text of your manuscript in 12-point Times New Roman font, single spaced, with 1-inch margins.

In a single document, include a cover page with the title of your manuscript, a table of contents, and the text of your poems.

Please include a brief bio in the cover letter space of our submissions manager.

Previously Published Poems:

Writers may include poems that have been posted on a personal blog or published in a literary magazine, unless you are restricted from doing so by an agreement with your previous publisher.

If you include previously published poems in your submission, please add an acknowledgments page to the end of your manuscript.

List the titles of the previously published poems and the organizations who published them.

Simultaneous Submissions:

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately if you choose to publish your work with another publisher.
Publication:
If your manuscript is selected, Rising Phoenix Press will offer to publish your collection as an ebook or a print chapbook in 2016.

Poets who publish with Rising Phoenix Press will receive royalties for each of their book sales.

Timeline:

Our reading time for each manuscript is currently one month.

Our editors will read and evaluate your collection during that time.

After we conclude our reading period, we will send a decision about your manuscript.

We will discuss the next steps in the process if your collection is selected for publication.

Contact Information:
If you have questions or concerns, please contact our editors via our press email address risingphoenixpoetry@gmail.com. Poets may also send inquires as tumblr asks.
