If you thought Madam C. J. Walker was the first black millionaire, think again. Annie Minerva Turnbo Malone (August 9, 1869 – May 10, 1957) was the real first millionaire businesswoman and with no tragic end to her story. She lived up until the grand age of 87.

Hi Janice!! I am putting together as many facts as I can to get her story told. At some point I will be in touch with you. Knowing what you do, don’t you think she would want her correct name aligned with her legacy? Malone was the beginning of her down fall and I understand during those times about marred names but all things considered she was a self made mogul Annie Minerva Turnbo Pope Malone is Annie Turnbo by birth. Our family has incorrect information about her too! She was my great great grandfather Johns brothers child. Thank you for preserving her legacy.
