call for submissions

little fiction

Planes. Trains. Electric cars. The Internet, Snapchat, message boards, ICQ. Twitter. Facebook. YouTube. Television. Smartphones. And smarter watches.

More than the tools that we use to send and receive, to map and to share, technology has become the thing that connects us now in more ways than ever. It’s also managed to isolate us in ways that we never imagined — it’s turned bullies into faceless tormentors, and spectators into accomplices. We use the technology at our fingertips to record riots and acts of police brutality, to voice opinions anonymously, to live out loud and in pictures, to find love, to lose love, to “travel” the world without leaving home.

Technology isn’t just part of the human experience now. It has become an extension of it.

In partnership with Inkshares, we are pleased to announce the call for submissions for the Little Fiction | Big Truths nonfiction Technology anthology.

The rules are simple: Be brave and be vulnerable. But also be brief — keep your story somewhere in the range of 1000 – 2500 words. And make sure you have permission to name names in your work, should you choose to do so. Also, your essay can be previously published, as long as you still hold the rights to it. Limit of one submission.

The anthology will be printed by Inkshares and selected pieces will earn authors a cool $100.

EMAIL YOUR SUBMISSION TO BIGTRUTHS@LITTLEFICTION.COM

Good luck, and get writing. EXTENDED DEADLINE: AUGUST 5, 2015.
