CONGOLESE

PHOTOGRAPHER

CHRISTIN BELA

AND THE

‘AFRICAN QUEENS’

Check out the new photo series from Congolese photographer and videographer Christin Bela, ‘African Queens’. The series was started a few months back with an aim to “send a positive message to the world about Black culture”, and the photographer tells us that “the purpose behind this shoot is to show a different image about our hairstyles, the fashion, our different body shapes, and to celebrate our diversity. We have many things that the world haven’t seen or know about us (black), and I can’t blame them, because most people nowadays get informed on television or the internet and we all know what’s there about our story”. Explore the series below.
