Accepted genres include but are not limited to memoir, biography, novel or novella, young adult literature, and graphic novels. The annual deadline is April 1st, with an application fee of $20. If an application is received after the deadline it will be considered for the next award cycle.  Word count must be between 15,000 to 75,000 words.  If your submission is a graphic novel (or some other hybrid form) where words do not make up the majority of the content, your document should be at least 60 pages, and not exceed 96 pages in length.

Winners of the Clarissa Dalloway “everything but poetry” Book Prize agree to give Red Hen Press first North American rights to the material. As a guideline, if more than 1/3 of an author’s submitted manuscript has appeared together in another published collection (either in print or online), her manuscript may not be chosen.
