We are pleased to announce we will be accepting submissions for a second installment of It’s Really 10 Months. That’s Right! This time, we want to hear YOUR stories of pregnancy as well as labor and delivery. Make us laugh so hard we cry. Make us nod our heads at your totally relatable story. Make us feel like we are right there with you!

We will be accepting submissions October 15, 2014 with a deadline of January 15, 2015.

We will assume all costs incurred during the publishing process. The book will be printed under our label, Anam Cara Books, LLC.

Contributor Guidelines:

1. Please submit original content only. Do not submit content that has been previously published or published anywhere on the amazing world wide web. Do not republish your piece elsewhere. If your piece is accepted for inclusion into the book, those submissions should not be used in blog posts, articles, etc. for the period noted in the contract. You must be the author of the piece. It is not good practice to publish a piece in multiple venues and we trust that you will respect the process.
2. Please keep your submission between 1,000 to 2,000 words. Do not embed them in the body of your email. Please attach your essay as a word document to your email and type, “Submission” in the subject line. We do not accept snail mail submissions. We rarely check our P.O. Box and it may very well languish in there for a long time.
3. This is a story about you so please be mindful of third party names for copyright purposes.
4. Each submission will be copy-edited. The content of your piece is important and we want to honor your effort in only making changes when absolutely necessary. To that end, do not include quotes, poetry or song lyrics that you have not authored nor own copyright to.
5. Initial marketing will be through social media. Included authors are encouraged to spread the word through their social media venues as well.
6. At the bottom of your submission, include a bio, headshot and any URLs that are representative of your blog and social media venues.

Compensation for Accepted Submission

Contributors will be paid $100 per accepted submission 120 days after the book is released with an opportunity for an additional bonus.    Additional details will be provided in a contract provided to contributors whose pieces are selected for final publication.
