TRIQUARTERLY

Submissions

Thank you for your interest in TriQuarterly.

Please note that generally TQ will not accept submissions between July 16 and October 15, 2014. The Submission Manager will be closed during that time. If any manuscripts slip through, they will be deleted.

However, interviews, reviews, and other features are refreshed weekly throughout the year and we read those submissions year-round. If you would like to review books, interview an author, or propose a craft essay, please email with “query-review,” etc., as the subject line to TriQuarterly@northwestern.edu

From October 15, 2014, to April 152015, TQ welcomes submissions of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, short drama, video essays, and hybrid work from established as well as emerging writers. We also welcome short-short prose pieces. We ask that poets submit no more than six poems between per cycle, and that prose authors limit their total submission to fewer than 3,500 words. We are especially interested in work that embraces the world and continues, however subtly, the ongoing global conversation about culture and society that TriQuarterly pursued from its beginning in 1964. TriQuarterly pays honoraria for creative work and publishes two issues a year.

Please submit via our Submission Manager. We do not accept mailed submissions. We do not publish creative work by current Northwestern MA/MFA students or those who have graduated from our program within the past five years, or by program faculty. We do not accept previously published work. We will accept multiple prose submissions per author. Please limit formats to .doc, .docx, .rtf, and PDF. We suggest keeping your font to 12-point Times New Roman and double-spacing all prose submissions. Poets, please submit your work in one document.

We accept simultaneous submissions. You can withdraw your prose at any time using Submission Manager. To withdraw your poetry, please send an email to tqpoetry@u.northwestern.edu.

The online Submission Manager will not accept submissions between July 15 and October 15, 2014. During that time, however, you will be able to log in to update your account and check submission status.

For periodic news and updates, please subscribe to our newsletter. (We promise not to clutter your inbox.) You can also keep up with TQ on FacebookTwitter and Tumblr.
