First Annual Poets@Work Book Prize

Contest Judge Stephen Dunn Stephen Dunn is the author of sixteen books, including Different Hours, which won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for poetry. In addition to his books, his work has appeared in The AtlanticThe Nationthe New Republicthe New Yorker, andthe American Poetry Review, to name just a few.

Poets@Work is happy to announce an open call for manuscripts of a full-length collection of poems in English from all over the world. Final judge will be Pulitzer Prize winning poet Stephen Dunn. All finalists will be considered for publication. Winners will receive $1000 and 25 copies of the winning collection. Standard publishing contract and royalties will also be issued. Manuscripts will be judged anonymously.

Submission Guidelines:

* Manuscripts should be between 52 and 92 pages, including front matter and a title page with only the manuscript title on it. * A cover sheet with the author’s name and contact information, including phone and email addresses (or with both author and translator’s information). * A $25 reading and handling fee paid by check to Poets at Work. You can also submit viaSubmittable but please note the submittable fee charge is $30.

November 15, 2014 Postmark (mail)

December 1, 2014 (Submittable).

 


Winners will be announced on the Poets at Work website and in various media in early 2015 and the books will be published in the Spring.
