Following this week’s sad news regarding the death of R&B/Soul icon Bobby Womack, Hip-Hop reacted. Since Little Brother’s The Listening, 9th Wonder has quietly and carefully alluded to his love (and listening) of Bobby’s music. Thereby, 11 years later, it was 9th who was among the first to honor the Gorillaz affiliate, who penned hits like “Across 110th Street.”

Teaming with L-R-G, Professor 9th assembled an 11-track tribute to the man who’s sound penetrated the times. It’s remarkable how quickly the Jamla Records CEO was able to compile and mix this—a sureshot sign of a true Head. Bobby Womack will be missed, but never forgotten…
