‘Cynical’ abduction by Boko Haram
The abduction of more than 200 school girls in Nigeria was not a gender issue, Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie tells BBC HARDtalk.
The writer cites how the Islamist militant group Boko Haram has also attacked boys, but in a world where gender still matters, abducting girls enabled the group to “make a bigger point”.
