The NEST Presents: Legacy
Legacy is the culmination of a challenge we gave to young Kenyan singers to cover eight Kenyan pop songs released before the year 2010. From classics like Nameless and Amani’s “Ninanoki” which ushered in a new wave of Kenyan contemporary pop music, to the tongue-in-cheek hip-hop commentary of K-South and Fundi Frank’s “Ndai” the seven participating singers have recreated and re-imagined these eight songs to discover how our musical past is influencing the future.

Many thanks go to the kind creators of these songs for allowing their younger contemporaries and fans to cover their songs for this project. Many thanks also go to our seven participating singers for their infectious enthusiasm. We’re looking forward to many more music projects in the months to come!
