HopeRoad is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new historical novel from Dutch author and film maker Jeroen Leinders, translated by Brian Doyle. The film out now and of the same name stars Danny Glover, Jeroen Krabbe and Deobia Oparei.

The news comes amid reports from various Dutch online media that the movie has been selected for the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival which runs from September 17 to October 1, 2013. Tula The Revolt will be the concluding film of the Festival. Directed by Jeroen Leinders,Tula The Revolt is the based-on-true-events story of the slave rebellion that took place in 1795 in Curaçao and was led by Tula. This feature film, which is in English, had its world premiere in the Netherlands on June 25 and premiered in Curaçao on July 11, 2013.

Jeroen Leinders, spent a large part of his youth on Curacao and over the past five years he regularly worked and lived there. During this period he came across the inspiring story of the slave, Tula.

World English language rights were bought by Rosemarie Hudson, Publisher of HopeRoad from Kees de Bakker of Uitgeverij Conserve. Simultaneous publication of e-book and paperback will take place on 30 August 2013
