FIRST PLACE

The winning poem and poet will be featured on Eat This Poem alongside an original recipe inspired by the work. In addition, the winner will also receive the following:

• A copy of The Hungry Ear: Poems of Food & Drink
• A 1-year subscription to Poets & Writers Magazine

SECOND PLACE

The second place poem will be featured on Eat This Poem and the winner will also receive the following: 

• A 1-year subscription to Poets & Writers Magazine

Contest Begins: July 1, 2013

Postmark Deadline: August 15, 2013

Poetry: 1-3 pages of poetry (one long poem or several short poems); there is no entry fee.

Poem must include a food reference of some kind. This could be the poem’s title, the story it tells, or a metaphor within the poem, for example.

Previously published works are welcome; please note publications on your cover page.

 

Author’s name must not appear on the manuscript. Include a cover sheet containing the author’s name, address, and email.  

Submissions are accepted electronically or by snail mail. Do not include SASE; winners will be notified via email, and an announcement will be made online only. Manuscripts will not be returned.

All entries may be considered for a digital anthology featuring selections from this year’s contest submissions.
