It’s June! To celebrate the first “official” month of summer, I’ve decided to hold a month-long haiku contest.

 

Your mission: To write the world’s best Summertime Haiku.

Your deadline: Anytime before June 30, 2013 (midnight your time, no cheating!)

Rules: This is open to anyone, anywhere in the world who enjoys writing haiku. Haiku can be about anything related to summertime. Haiku should be written in traditional 5–7-5 format. You can submit only ONE haiku per person, so make it your best!

Prizes: Winners will receive a free copy of Buttontapper Press’s Haiku For Lovers ebook. You can read it on your favorite dedicated e-reading device, your smartphone, or your computer. Winners will be selected by Buttontapper Press author and editor Laura Roberts.

To submit: We’re keeping it simple — just write your haiku in the comments section for this page. Don’t forget to include a real email address so that we can contact you if you win!

warm sun, cool drinks, good
