Submissions are accepted in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Prizes<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">First prize is awarded in each category:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">$1,000 OR full scholarship to the Writers@Work Generative Conference (June 6-10, 2018 at Alta Lodge, Alta, UT)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Publication in <em><a href=\"http:\/\/quarterlywest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Quarterly West<\/a>.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Eligibility<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Any writer who has not yet published a book-length volume of original work in the genre in which they submit a manuscript;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">If your work is accepted elsewhere for publication before the contest deadline, please withdraw your manuscript in Submittable. Note: The entrance fee is non-refundable.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Unpublished work only. .Work appearing in online journals is considered published. Work on personal websites or blogs is considered unpublished;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Previous winners are not eligible in the genre in which they have won;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Board members are prohibited from submitting manuscripts during their tenure on the board;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Current and former students of the judges are ineligible to submit in those categories;**<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">You may enter multiple submissions per category and\/or submissions in multiple categories. If your name appears on the submission, your entry will be disqualified;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Remove all identifying information from your submission.
