\nunpublished, no longer than 15,000 words, and must not have been
\npreviously chosen as a winner, finalist, or honorable mention in another

\nhave appeared in collections such as The Best American Short Stories,<\/em>

\ninsight that are intense and total. We look for works that have the

We welcome and look forward to reading your pages.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Awards:<\/strong> First Prize is $2,500, Second Prize is $1,000,<\/strong> Third Prize is $500,<\/strong> and up to ten finalists will receive $100 each.<\/strong> All entries will be considered for publication.<\/span><\/p>\n Submission Fee:<\/strong> There is a $26 fee for each entry. With your entry, you\u2019ll receive three months of complimentary access to Narrative Backstage.<\/span><\/p>\n All contest entries<\/strong> are eligible for the $4,000 Narrative Prize<\/span><\/a> and for acceptance as a Story of the Week<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Timing:<\/strong><\/span> The contest deadline is November 30, 2017, at midnight, Pacific standard time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Judging:<\/strong><\/span> The contest will be judged by the editors of the magazine. Winners and finalists will be announced to the public by December 31, 2017. All writers who enter will be notified by email of the judges\u2019 decisions, which will be final.
