<\/a><\/h2>\nRachel Wetzsteon Chapbook Award<\/span><\/h2>\nMap Literary is pleased to announce that the second\u00a0Rachel Wetzsteon
\nChapbook Award is now open for submissions. Named after our late
\ncolleague, this award honors beautiful, original writing through
\npublication as a high-quality chapbook.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\nThis year the award will focus on prose. Using our Submittable portal,
\nsubmit a manuscript of fiction, nonfiction, creative nonfiction, or prose
\npoetry of about 7,000-12,000 words. The manuscript may be a collection
\nof mixed pieces–short stories, flash fictions, prose poems, essays, or a
\nstand-along excerpt from a longer work–but should be unified by a
\ncommon theme. We seek new, original work, though individual pieces
\nthat have been previously published elsewhere may be included.<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\nThe deadline for entries is July 30th, 2016. There is no entry fee.<\/span>The winner will receive a $250.00 honorarium and 25 copies of the winning chapbook, which will be printed and sold on Amazon.com.<\/span><\/p>\nMap Literary editors will judge. His most recent is\u00a0Skin Music,<\/em>\u00a0co-winner of the 2014 Michael Waters Poetry Prize from Southern Indiana Review Press and forthcoming in autumn 2015. His previous books include\u00a0Rip-tooth<\/em>\u00a0(2010 Tampa Poetry Prize) and\u00a0Kurosawa\u2019s Dog<\/em>\u00a0(2008 FIELD Poetry Prize). An earlier work,\u00a0Detail from The Garden of Earthly Delights,<\/em>\u00a0received the 1999 Akron Poetry Prize.
