<\/a><\/p>\nCall for Submissions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Twelve Winters Press is seeking submissions for a print anthology of bleeding edge creative work that combines, defies,\u00a0perverts, and\/or subverts existing notions of genre and idiom.\u00a0Submissions must work on or with the two-dimensional printed page and should be narrative in the broad sense \u2013 any account of fictional or nonfictional connected events \u2013 but otherwise we are hoping to see work so innovative that we couldn\u2019t know how to request it prior to seeing it. Work may comprise graphics, text, and\/or any other printable code, notation, or means of making meaning, and should combine, defy, pervert, and\/or subvert existing notions of genre and idiom.<\/span><\/p>\n Anyone anywhere\u00a0\u00a0may submit work, and there is no fee. The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n Submissions may comprise graphics, text, and\/or any other printable code, notation, or means of making meaning. Color and graphical elements are not required, but we are especially interested in work with some dimension of visual interest. Due to the nature of this anthology, work that is easily assigned a traditional category (e.g., \u201cpoetry,\u201d \u201cphotography,\u201d \u201cflash fiction,\u201d \u201cbatik\u201d) or might fit with other, more traditional outlets, may not be a good fit with the anthology.\u00a0Only printable media will be accepted; however, if the submission innovates a way to involve other media that relies principally on the print medium, it may be considered. (E.g., a QR code linking to a music library would not be acceptable, per se, but could work as an appendix to, or integral element of, a principally print work.) The anthology is targeted to an English-speaking audience. Spanish, sign, Martian, etc., elements may be considered, provided an English-speaking audience can understand what they are meant to understand.<\/span><\/p>\n The book will contain approximately 160 pages at 8.5\u2033 x 8.5\u2033, perfect bound, with a default print area of 6.5\u2033 x 6.5\u2033, printed in process color.\u00a0Submitted work should be formatted to these specifications; otherwise we may modify work to fit the layout.\u00a0Submissions are permitted and encouraged to take full advantage of the format, including, as desired, the entire 8.5\u2033 x 8.5\u2033 page, but contributors should be mindful of the bleed and gutter.<\/span><\/p>\n Submit\u00a0a\u00a0complete work or\u00a0representative, self-sufficient excerpt\u00a0of 12 pages or fewer as\u00a0formatted .PDF, .DOC(X), or high-quality (300 DPI) .JPEG or .TIFF.
