This theme can be interpreted broadly and may include but is not limited to work addressing politics, economics, government, war, leadership; issues of identity (gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, disability, body image, immigration, heritage, etc.); community, civic engagement, education, activism; and poems about history, Americana, cultural icons.<\/span><\/p>\nSplit This Rock subscribes to the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses Contest Code of Ethics.\u00a0Read it online here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\nSubmission guidelines:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nSubmit up to 3 unpublished poems, no more than 6 pages total, in any style, in the spirit of Split This Rock (see above). He is a member of the English Department and MFA in Writing faculty of Old Dominion University, and is a teaching board member of the Muse Writers Workshop. He teaches part time for the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA in Writing Program, and is a teacher at Cave Canem. A highly active ambassador for poetry, Seibles presents his work nationally and internationally at universities, high schools, cultural centers, and literary festivals.\u00a0<\/span>His honors include an Open Voice Award and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHis poems have been published in literary journals and magazines including\u00a0Callaloo<\/em>,\u00a0The Kenyon Review<\/em>,\u00a0Indiana Review<\/em>,\u00a0Ploughshares<\/em>,\u00a0Electronic Poetry Review<\/em>,and\u00a0Rattle<\/em>, among others.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSeibles is the author of five books of poetry, including\u00a0Fast Animal<\/em>\u00a0(Etruscan Press 2012), 2012 National Book Award Finalist.
