I loved this conversation between Neil deGrasse Tysonand Nichelle Nichols.

The recording itself is maybe 3 years old, from what I could determine, but it’s all quite refreshing, and still very much worth listening to, full of plenty of useful information, personal anecdotes, insight and more, so check it out below. 

Of course they discuss the story of how Martin Luther King Jr. persuaded Nichols to remain on the original Star Trek series as Lt. Uhura, when she almost left the show after its first season, to pursue her Broadway dreams.

But they discuss a lot more, all in a very casual, engaging manner. It’s good stuff, and was recorded on Tyson’sStarTalk program.
