THE BLACK WOMEN’S COLLECTIVE is a series of five monographs, each having a specific literary form. The first in this series is POETRY. Each poet can submit up to THREE poems for review; however, even if all are considered acceptable, only TWO of those accepted poems will be featured in the text. The DEADLINE for submission is November 1, 2015 with a publication date of June 2016.

For the POETRY MONOGRAPH, the single subject matter is REPRESENTATIONS OF BLACK WOMEN IN MODERN MASS MEDIA OF ANY TYPE AND HOW THOSE DEPICTIONS AFFECT THE AVERAGE BLACK WOMEN IN THEIR DAILY LIVES, PARTICULARLY HOW IT FEELS TO BE A BLACK WOMAN IN SUCH A SOCIO-POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT.

I, YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME, agree to allow Banned Books LLC and Ellesia Blaque, CEO and sole proprietor, to review the attached THREE poems for consideration for THE BLACK WOMEN’S COLLECTIVE: POETRY OF THE OUR BLACK EXPERIENCE with the understanding that this is only a review, not a guarantee of publication; and that if the poems are published, they will be done so under contract. This email confirms that none of the poems submitted have been previously published via ANY type of medium, including blogs, social media, and that there are no videos of my performing the poetry anywhere on the Internet, including Youtube, Instagram, or any other video social media website.. I further confirm that the poetry submitted does not appear in any book, or another printed form. The poems submitted for review as PDF attachments to this email are as follows:

Announcements for the other four texts in the series will appear on this website approximately every six months until from this submissions until are listed. Therefore, if you are not interested in submitting poetry, look forward to the other four monographs in the series, which include non-fiction/essay, short story fiction, long fiction, and dramatic stage plays.
