A prize of $1,000 will be given triennially for an ekphrastic poem inspired by a piece of art selected by the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. The winner and runners-up will be invited to a reading and award reception at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston in April 2015; their poems and the finalists’ poems will also be published in the ARTlines2 anthology. Robert Pinsky, David M. Parsons, Patricia Smith, Mary Szybist, and Roberto Tejada will judge. Using the online submission system, submit a poem of up to 40 lines inspired by one of five selected pieces of art (which can be found on the contest website) with a $16 entry fee by November 12 ($10 for each additional poem) or a $20 entry fee by November 30 ($16 for each additional poem).
